FAQ

How long will my candle last?

Our 75g candle burns for approx.15 hours

Our 220g candles burns for approx. 40 hours

What wax do you use?

We used the finest quality mineral wax, simply because it makes the very best scented candles. It’s found on the leaves and fruits of many plants, but most wax is a natural by-product of crude oil.

Why do you use mineral wax?

All waxes have their pros and cons, but we use mineral wax because we think it looks better, burns better and holds more fragrance. Because it is a readily available by-product, it’s also cheaper, whereas soy, palm and rapeseed wax have to go through a complex manufacturing process.

What does fragrance throw, hot throw and and cold throw mean?

Fragrance throw is a about the strength of the candle’s scent. Cold throw is it’s scent unlit and hot throw is the strength of the fragrance when the candle is burning. We pride ourselves on a generous throw!

How can I prevent my candle tunnelling?

‘Tunnelling’ is where the candle burns in the middle only creating a tunnel of wax. Our high quality wicks are designed to minimise tunnelling if our candles are burnt correctly. See our candle care for tips.

Why did my candle go out by itself?

Your candle shouldn’t self-extinguish until it’s burned right down to the bottom of the jar – unless it has burned unevenly or ‘tunnelled’. See our candle care for tips.

Why is there a small gap between the glass jar and the candle?

This is called ‘pullaway’ and it happens naturally when the wax cools in the jar. We do our best to minimise it, but it’s part of the candle making process.
